UBC BUCHANAN TOWER UPGRADE – PHASE 1

Phase 1 of the UBC Buchanan Tower Upgrade consisted of 2 floors of office upgrades alongside an entire mechanical upgrade on the chilled water system (Cooling tower, chiller, pumps, etc). During this work, JQ Mechanical were contracted to install a 4-pipe base building riser through all 12 floors of the tower in 6” and 4” piping.
What made this project different: Completing extensive upgrades to the base building heating and cooling systems whilst occupants were utilizing the system made this project both challenging and interesting. The system utilized an old ‘change over system’ which we worked closely with the engineer to redesign for better integration.
